Foundations
Kindergarten through Second grade is an essential time for creating a strong educational foundation. Liberty Academy uses proven core curriculum for these important years, such as Saxon Math, Riggs, Shurley English, SRA, and Core Knowledge. Students are encouraged to explore exciting topics underpinning the joy of learning.

Salem: Pond Town
Third grade will explore the history of Salem , including the ecology and the water of Salem Pond, with field research both there at and the fish hatchery in Springville. Their expedition will meet the state and Core Knowledge requirements such as studying community, living things, the environment, and animal classification.

Our Founder's Rock: The Makings of Government!
Fourth and Fifth grades will examine forms of government and explore geology, as well as the other requirements in the state standards and Core Knowledge. Literacy, cursive, writing skills, spelling, grammar will be essential components. Students will help to create the transformation of government, from tyranny to a democratic republic. They will also mine rocks for barter purposes (geology strand), then experience receipt and fiat currency with their findings.

The Disappearance of the Anasazi: Where did They Go?
Sixth grade will experience the required content such as Saxon Math, and in addition, through the lens of an ancient civilization engage in essential literacy skills. Their expedition will investigate Native American History and the study of the solar system and other science explorations. They will explore ruins, engage in community conservation service learning, while exploring our own universe and the elements of which it is comprised.

Cold War: Hot Utah!
Seventh and Eighth grades traverse history to see how the Cold War impacted our very own State. Beginning in the 1940's, we will trace nuclear technology in relation to Utah. We will move through time up to the present day to include current issues such as storing nuclear waste in Utah, compensation for the “Downwinders”, and use of radiation in medicine, using these topics for rigorous science explorations, and intensive research and writing projects. Also, Saxon math, Latin and English grammar, and other state core will prepare students for a successful and highly academic high school experience.

The Federal Government: A Help or Hindrance in Southern Utah
Ninth grade will meet graduation requirements and state standards through an intensive investigation of US Constitutional Studies and exploration of the US Government system, such as their involvement in the uranium mining process in Moab, Utah. The students will have unparalleled instruction and develop advanced skills in Mathematics, English, Earth Systems, PE, Latin, and Covey Leadership as they scrutinize the system which governs our society today.

Symbology in Ancient Times
The Tenth through Twelfth grades focus on projects to support successful scholarship and college entrance applications as well as 21 st Century skill development as they explore ancient cultures. Graduation requirements met will include higher mathematics, English, Physics, Humanities, History, Fine Arts (Music Appreciation), PE, Financial Literacy, Health and electives such as Speech/Debate, and Ballroom instruction.
