April is upon us and we now turn our attention to the values of Courage and Optimism.  Our great country has seen countless examples of each of these values.  Our Founding Fathers exemplified courage in trying something that had never been done before and in the face of great danger as they had to win the Revolutionary War to even have the opportunity to try out their new political ideas.  They held on to hope in America’s potential to be the great nation it has since become.  I am inspired by the optimism of Thomas Edison, who said in reference to his many “failed” inventions, “I have not failed.  I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”  Discouragement is easy; it’s natural to get frustrated and disappointed about our perceived failings.  But it is courage which is required to be optimistic and remain positive in the face of adversity.  Remember, as Henry Ford put it, “Whether you think you can or cannot, you are right!”

Several Staff members and I have become increasingly concerned about our children’s safety to and from school.  It is especially disturbing to see some of you driving with a baby or toddler in your lap!  I wish to remind anyone who drives our precious students that each of them is required by state law to wear a seat belt.  If you do not have a seat belt for every passenger in your carpool, please make other arrangements for the sake of the kids. 

We are grateful for each of the families that have joined us this year and have submitted a registration packet for next year’s enrollment.  We are so excited for the great things to come and encourage you to invite other families to come and see what we’re all about.  I am so excited for the coming year and the new opportunities yet to come for our great students.  Stay tuned to our website for updated information:  http://www.libertyacademycs.org   Thank you for your support of our great school!
